ABOUT THIS COURSE
Identity, Culture and Faith: An introduction to multicultural counselling is a Continued Personal Development Activity. This course is specifically designed for counsellors and psychotherapists and for those interested in working with different ethnic groups.
The course is open to professionals who have a good understanding of counselling such as support workers, psychologists, social workers and those working in the caring professions. It will allow them to broaden their knowledge further in the counselling field. In addition, the course is also suitable for those looking to enter a career in counselling and will prepare them to work towards the first stage of gaining counselling qualifications.
It allows professionals to further their development and is based on gaining an understanding of other cultures. It will look at counselling from a Christian, Islamic, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist and Jewish perspective.
This enables the trainees to compare differences to western culture counselling. The course includes visits to Hindu and Sikh temples, a Church and a mosque. The hours on this course can be counted as CPD (Continuing Professional Development).
